AQUALYX was developed to treat localised pockets of fat underneath the surface of the skin. 

It can be used to treat fat pockets on the back, chin, stomach, underneath the buttocks, hips, thighs and knees. A reduction in fat deposits can be seen after just one treatment, however, between three and eight sessions are required to see the optimal effect. The speed at which results are seen will vary depending on the stability of the cell membranes; younger patients are more likely to see results after a longer period.Patients report good tolerance of the treatment and an anaesthetic is normally mixed into the solution prior to the injection for greater comfort. As this is a non-surgical treatment there is minimal downtime and no general anaesthetic risks. The specialised elastic needles allow small areas to be tackled effectively such as double chin and jowls. As there are no incisions, stitches are not required and scarring is unlikely. After each treatment patients can expect some swelling, redness and skin irritation and tenderness in the area treated, which will reside after 1-3 days. The treatment should be repeated between every three to four weeks for two to eight times depending on the number and volume of pockets of fat tissue to be eliminated.  How does Aqualyx work?

Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections are a specially-formulated compound solution which is injected by a specially trained doctor into the problem area. It works by attaching to fatty deposits, breaking them down over time. The fat is then naturally dissolved and flushed out by the body. Results are effective, quick, and minimally invasive.

You will be required to have a full consultation before any fat dissoving treatment, but generally this treatment is not suitable for those classed as clinically overweight and those aged under 18 or over 60.

 There will be some discomfort while injecting but if needed, can add lidocaine (an anesthetic) to the AQUALYX solution so that the two are injected together to minimize discomfort.

For safety reasons all patients with a medical history including anaphylactic reactions, severe allergies, severe organic or physical illnesses, autoimmune disease or diabetes, as well as women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are excluded from   any treatment with AQUALYX. 

People treated with AQUALYX will typically experience minimal side effects when compared to more invasive procedures, such as liposuction. Side effects include some redness, swelling and tenderness in the treated area. All these are expected side effects that will settle within either a few days or weeks depending on how you react to it. The manufacturers report that to date no major side effects of AQUALYX use have been reported to them.
